The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed linebacker C.J. Reavis to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Saturday.
C.J. Reavis is six foot and weighs 198 pounds. The 28-year-old from Chester, Virginia, made 59 tackles, six tackles on special teams, three sacks, one interception, and three forced fumbles in 17 games for the Roughriders in 2023. The Roughriders signed Reavis as a free agent on April 1, 2022. In 2022, Reavis made four tackles on special teams in four games.
Before Saskatchewan, Reavis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He made one tackle (1 solo) in four games for the Jaguars in 2018. After Jacksonville, Reavis was on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad in 2019.
Collegiately, Reavis played one season at Virginia Tech in 2014 with eight tackles (4 solo, 4 assists), half a tackle for loss, one forced fumble, and one blocked punt in 12 games for the Hokies. Next, he transferred to East Mississippi in 2015 with 40 tackles (33 solo, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, two interceptions for 29 yards, eight pass breakups, and one blocked punt in nine games for the Lions.
Then, Reavis transferred to Marshall University (2016-17) with 123 tackles (64 solo, 59 assists), five tackles for loss, one interception, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 20 games for the Thundering Herd.
