B.C. Lions quarterback Dane Evans announced his retirement from professional football on Monday.

Dane Evans is six foot one and weighs 218 pounds. The 30-year-old from Chickasha, Oklahoma, completed 71 of 103 passes (71%) for 829 yards, four touchdowns, six interceptions, and six carries for 30 yards in six games for the B.C. Lions in 2023. The Lions acquired Evans from the Ticats on February 23, 2023, for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft.

Before B.C., Evans signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2017 but was released at the end of training camp. Then, Evans signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats a month later.

Evans spent four seasons in Hamilton completing 698 of 1,019 passes (68.5%) for 8,807 yards, 45 touchdowns, 34 interceptions, 125 carries for 511 yards, and ten touchdowns in 63 games. He led the Ticats to two Grey Cup appearances in 2019 and 2021.

Collegiately, Evans played four seasons at Tulsa (2013-16) completing 904 of 1,577 passes (57.3%) for 11,680 yards, 84 touchdowns, 47 interceptions, 244 carries for 72 yards, and ten touchdowns in 46 games for the Golden Hurricanes, of which 43 were starts.
