Montreal Alouettes sign defensive lineman Kivon Bennett

The Montreal Alouettes brought back defensive lineman Kivon Bennett on Monday.

Kivon Bennett is six foot two and weighs 236 pounds. The 24-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was on the Alouettes practice squad in 2023. Montreal signed Bennett as a free agent on May 29, 2023.

Collegiately, Bennett played four seasons at Tennessee (2017-20) with 52 tackles (28 solo, 24 assists), 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 28 games for the Volunteers.

Then he transferred to Arkansas State (2021-22) with 108 tackles (51 solo, 57 assists), 26 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in 23 games for the Red Wolves. Bennett was named Second Team All-Sun Belt in 2021 and Third Team All-Sun Belt in 2022.
