The Chicago Bears signed defensive back Douglas Coleman III on Wednesday. Coleman II was released by the Redblacks on Monday.

Douglas Coleman III is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 25-year-old from Zachary, Louisiana, made 60 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, and two touchdowns in 17 games for the Redblacks in 2023.

The Redblacks signed Coleman as a free agent on October 11, 2021, and was placed on the practice squad. In 2022, Coleman III made 18 tackles and one sack in five games.

Before Ottawa, Coleman III signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Collegiately, Coleman III played four years at Texas Tech (2016-19) with 141 tackles (109 solo, 32 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, eleven interceptions, 27 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Red Raiders.
