The Edmonton Elks re-signed wide receiver Kyran Moore to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season and signed defensive back Devodric Bynum on Friday.
Kyron Moore is five foot ten and weighs 165 pounds. The 27-year-old from Bessemer, Alabama, made 69 catches for 743 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for eight yards, and three kick returns for 52 yards in 18 games for the Elks in 2023.
Before Edmonton, Moore went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft and later signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on May 17, 2018. Moore played four seasons in Saskatchewan with 210 catches for 2,351 yards, ten touchdowns, 15 carries for 28 yards, and five kick returns for 141 yards in 46 games in Saskatchewan.
Collegiately, Moore played four seasons at Austin Peay (2014-17) with 56 catches for 918 yards, five touchdowns, 60 carries for 347 yards, four touchdowns, 62 kick returns for 1,334 yards, two touchdowns, and 19 punt returns for 131 yards in 40 games for the Governors.
Devodric Bynum is five foot eleven and weighs 195 pounds. The 24-year-old from Dallas, Texas, played one season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 2018 with 40 tackles (18 solo, 22 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, one interception for 76 yards, one touchdown, four pass breakups, two kick returns for 71 yards, and two punt returns for 27 yards in nine games for the Golden Norsemen.
Then, Bynum transferred to the University of Birmingham-Alabama (2019-22) with 60 tackles (47 solo, 13 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, 15 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 43 games for the Blazers.
In his final season in 2022, Bynum made 28 tackles (23 solo, 5 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, ten pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games. He was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 14 with eight tackles (7 solo, 1 assist), two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup against North Texas.
