Montreal Alouettes sign RB Marcus Williams Jr. and WR Kameron Brown

The Montreal Alouettes signed running Marcus Williams Jr. and wide receiver Kameron Brown on Friday.

Marcus Williams Jr. is five foot ten and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, played four seasons at Appalachian State (2017-20) with 400 carries for 2,216 yards, 14 touchdowns, 13 catches for 123 yards, and one touchdown in 42 games for the Mountaineers. He was named an All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention in 2019.

Then, Williams Jr. transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2021 with 194 carries for 787 yards, eight touchdowns, 20 catches for 202 yards, and one touchdown in 12 games for the Bulldogs.

Kameron Brown is six foot three and weighs 210 pounds. The 26-year-old from Graniteville, South Carolina, attended training camp for the Arlington Renegades (XFL) in 2023 before signing with the Alouettes on September 5, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad for a month before Montreal released him on October 11, 2023.

Before Arlington, Brown signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. However, he was waived on August 16, 2022.

Collegiately, Brown played four seasons at Charleston Southern (2016-19) with 98 catches for 1,656 yards and 18 touchdowns in 34 games for the Buccaneers. He is a two-time Second Team All-Big South Conference.

Then, Brown transferred to Coastal Carolina (2020-21) with 56 catches for 911 yards, and eight touchdowns in 25 games for the Chanticleers. He was an Honorable Mention for the All-Sun Belt Conference in 2021.
