The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed offensive lineman Stanley Bryant to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Tuesday. Bryant was scheduled to be a free agent next month.

Stanley Bryant is six foot five and weighs 319 pounds. The 37-year-old from Goldsboro, North Carolina, played 17 games in 2023, helping the Blue Bombers reach their fourth consecutive Grey Cup appearance losing to the Montreal Alouettes.

In 2023, Winnipeg’s offense ranked first in total points (594), average points per game (31.7), offensive touchdowns (62), average net offense per game (414.7), average rushing yards per game (139.1), second in offensive touchdowns (65), average passing yards per game (292.4), and sacks allowed (33).

In addition, Winnipeg’s offensive line helped running back Brady Oliveira rush for a league-best 1,534 yards in earning his first rushing title. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2023. The Blue Bombers signed Bryant as a free agent on February 10, 2015. He’s played 103 games for Winnipeg.

Before Winnipeg, Bryant signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He later signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2010 playing 66 games. Bryant is a three-time Grey Cup champion, four-time CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award, five-time winner of the DeMarco–Becket Memorial Trophy, an eight-time CFL West All-Star and a seven-time CFL All-Star.

Collegiately, Bryant played one season at Elizabeth City State University in 2005 and two seasons at East Carolina University (2007-08) playing 19 games, of which 14 were starts for the Pirates.
