The Birmingham Stallions signed defensive back Mark Gilbert for the 2024 season on Friday.

Mark Gilbert is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Fayetteville, North Carolina, made 32 tackles (29 solo, 3 assists), two tackles for loss, four interceptions for 29 yards, and 15 pass breakups in ten games for the Pittsburgh Maulers in 2023. He was named to the All-USFL Team after the season.

After the season, Gilbert signed with the Miami Dolphins and played one preseason game with one tackle (1 solo) against the Atlanta Falcons.

Before Pittsburgh, Gilbert signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions playing eight games with three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup.

Collegiately, Gilbert played five seasons at Duke (2016-20) with 65 tackles (44 solo, 21 assists), five tackles for loss, seven interceptions, and 24 pass breakups in 29 games for the Blue Devils. He was named First Team All-ACC in 2017.
