The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive lineman Charbel Dabire to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Friday.
Charbel Dabire is six foot one and weighs 290 pounds. The 27-year-old from Burkina Faso, made 13 tackles, two tackles on special teams, and two sacks in 18 games for the Roughriders in 2023.
The Roughriders drafted Dabire in the fifth round (44th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft out of Wagner College. In four seasons with the Roughriders, Dabire has made 37 tackles, three tackles on special teams, and six sacks in 55 games.
Collegiately, Dabire played one season at New Mexico Military Institute in 2015 with 22 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 11 games for the Broncos. Then, he transferred to Wagner College (2016-18) with 73 tackles (47 solo, 26 assists), nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one pass breakup, one punt return for 36 yards, and one touchdown in 33 games for Seahawks.
