The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Geronimo Allison on Friday.
Geronimo Allison is six foot three and weighs 197 pounds. The 30-year-old from Tampa, Florida, made 23 catches for 259 yards, and one touchdown in ten games for the Vegas Vipers (XFL) in 2023. The Vipers signed Allison as a free agent on January 21, 2023.
Before Vegas, Allison signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played four seasons in Green Bay making 89 catches for 1,045 yards, six touchdowns, and one carry for seven yards in 46 games. Then, he signed with the Detroit Lions as a free agent in 2021. He was targeted two times in three regular season games recording no stats.
Collegiately, Allison played two seasons at Iowa Western Community College (2012-13) with 95 catches for 1,300 yards, ten touchdowns, one carry for six yards, and eight tackles (4 solo, 4 assists) in 22 games for the Reivers. Allison helped the Reivers win the 2012 NJCAA National Championship. He was named Second Team Junior College All-American and First Team All-Midwest Football Conference.
Then, he transferred to Illinois (2014-15) with 106 catches for 1,480 yards, and eight touchdowns in 24 games for the Fighting Illini.
