The Birmingham Stallions signed defensive tackle Carlos Davis and linebacker Ike Brown for the 2024 season on Friday.
Carlos Davis is six foot two and weighs 320 pounds. The 27-year-old from Blue Springs, Missouri, played three preseason games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 with two tackles (2 solo). The Stallions signed Davis as a free agent on October 6, 2023, but was later released to return to the Atlanta Falcons and was placed on the practice squad.
Before Atlanta, Davis was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round (232nd pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Davis played 12 regular season games for the Steelers in three seasons with 12 tackles (8 solo, 4 assists), three tackles for loss, and one sack.
Collegiately, Davis played four seasons at Nebraska (2016-19) with 125 tackles (59 solo, 66 assists), 16 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Cornhuskers. He was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2018.
Ike Brown is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Tampa, Florida, was on the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad for two seasons. Before Las Vegas, Brown signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2020.
The New Orleans Breakers (USFL) drafted Brown in the 11th round (93rd pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Brown made 14 tackles (8 solo, 6 assists), two interceptions for 98 yards, one touchdown, and six pass breakups in seven games.
Collegiately, Brown played four seasons at Florida International University (2016-19) with 102 tackles (85 solo, 17 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions for 56 yards, one touchdown, 29 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and four kick returns for 75 yards in 41 games for the Panthers.
