The Michigan Panthers re-signed quarterback E.J. Perry for the 2024 season on Sunday according to Pro Football Network’s James Larsen.
Perry initially re-signed with the Panthers on December 19, 2023, but was released a day later to sign an NFL contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was placed on the practice squad.
E.J. Perry is six foot two and weighs 210 pounds. The 25-year-old from Andover, Massachusetts, completed 12 of 23 passes (52.2%) for 121 yards, ten carries for 48 yards, and one touchdown in one game for the Panthers in 2023.
In the North Division Finals, Perry completed 23 of 38 passes (60.5%) for 370 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, seven carries for 22 yards, and one touchdown against the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Panthers signed Perry as a free agent on May 30, 2023.
After the season, Perry signed with the Houston Texans. He played one preseason game completing 7 of 12 passes (58.3%) for 58 yards, and two carries for -3 yards.
Before Michigan, Perry signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2022. The Houston Texans would later claim him off waivers before he was eventually released on May 11, 2023.
Collegiately, Perry played two seasons at Boston College (2017-18) completing 27 of 39 passes (69%) for 277 yards, two touchdowns, 20 carries for 70 yards, and one touchdown in 20 games for the Eagles.
Then, Perry transferred to Brown (2019, 2021) completing 546 of 862 passes (63%) for 5,981 yards, 45 touchdowns, 27 interceptions, 253 carries for 1,132 yards, 15 touchdowns, two catches for 66 yards, and one touchdown in 20 games for the Browns.
He was named a two-time First Team All-Ivy League, winner of the George H. “Bulger” Lowe Award, and led the Bears to win the Bushnell Cup in 2021.
