The Stuttgart Surge re-signed quarterback Reilly Hennessey for the 2024 season on Sunday.

Reilly Hennessey is six foot three and weighs 228 pounds. The 28-year-old from Camas, Washington, completed 130 of 204 passes (64%) for 1,679 yards, 14 touchdowns, three interceptions, 51 carries for 211 yards, and six touchdowns in seven games for the Surge in 2023 leading them to the EFL Championship game against the Rhein Fire.

Before Stuttgart, Hennessey played two seasons with the Parma Panthers of the Italian Football League completing 156 of 269 passes (58%) for 2,327 yards, 26 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, 63 carries for 436 yards, and three touchdowns in 12 games.

In the 2021 postseason, Hennessey completed 33 of 51 passes (65%) for 481 yards, five touchdowns, 13 carries for 48 yards, and one touchdown. In October, he signed with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns to play in the championship game after their starter was injured. In the championship game, Hennessey completed 13 of 23 passes (57%) for 164 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and six carries for 13 yards in a loss to the Dresden Monarchs.

In 2022, Hennessey signed with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns completing 98 of 134 passes (73.1%) for 1,524 yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, 16 carries for 49 yards, and four touchdowns in eight games.

In the 2022 playoffs, Hennessey completed 32 of 45 passes (71.1%) for 564 yards, nine touchdowns, two interceptions, 23 carries for 111 yards, and four touchdowns leading the Unicorns to win German Bowl XLIII over the Potsdam Royals 44-27. He was named the German Bowl MVP.

Collegiately, Hennessey played two seasons at Washington State (2015-16) completing 82 of 122 passes (67%) for 1,017 yards, seven touchdowns, three interceptions, 25 carries for 19 yards, and one touchdown in 11 games for the Eagles.

Then, he transferred to Central Washington University (2017-18) completing 397 of 608 passes (65%) for 5,256 yards, 49 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 206 carries for 1,049 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) in 23 games for the Wildcats. He was named GNAC Newcomer of the Year in 2017 and a two-time First Team All-GNAC.
