The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed offensive lineman Logan Ferland to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season and kicker Brett Lauther to a three-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Monday.

Logan Ferland is six foot five and weighs 306 pounds. The 26-year-old from Melfort, Saskatchewan, played 18 games for the Roughriders in 2023.

In 2023, the Roughriders finished eighth in average points per game (20.3), sixth in offensive touchdowns (34), fifth in average net offense (346.4), eighth in average rushing yards (84.4), third in average passing yards (280.4), and seventh in sacks allowed (54). Ferland has played 32 games for the Roughriders in two seasons. The Roughriders signed Ferland as a free agent in 2019.

Before Saskatchewan, Ferland played five seasons for the Regina Thunder (CJFL) playing five games with one tackle and three tackles on special teams. He was named a 2018 CFFL All-Canadian and PFC All-Star Team. In 2016 and 2017, he was selected as a PFC All-Star team.

Brett Lauther is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 33-year-old from Truro, Nova Scotia, converted 36 of 44 field goals (81.8%) with a long of 54 yards and made 27 of 29 extra points in 18 games for the Roughriders in 2023. He won the Tom Pate Memorial Award in 2023.

The Roughriders signed Lauther as a free agent on September 3, 2015. In five seasons, Lauther has converted 203 of 242 field goals (83.9%) with a long of 57 yards, made 130 of 142 extra points, and punted the ball five times for 108 yards (28.4 AVG) in 81 games. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2018.

Before Saskatchewan, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Lauther in the seventh round (53rd pick) of the 2017 CFL Draft. He made four field goals in a Week 13 contest against the Montreal Alouettes and was named Special Teams Player of the Week. Lauther also had stints with the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos.

Collegiately, Lauther played four seasons at St. Mary’s University (2009-12) converting 33 of 47 field goals (70%) with a long of 50 yards, making 49 of 49 extra points (100%), and punting the ball 146 times for 5,534 yards (37.9 AVG) with a long of 78 yards, 25 from inside the 20-yard line and four touchbacks in 18 games for the Huskies.
