Lehigh Valley Phantoms get Bobby Brink but lose Olle Lycksell

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Monday that forward Bobby Brink has been loaned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms while recalling forward Olle Lycksell to Philadelphia.

Bobby Brink is five foot eight and weighs 169 pounds. The 22-year-old from Minnetonka, Minnesota, has 18 points (7 goals, 18 assists), six penalty minutes, two power play goals, and one game-winning goal in 38 games for the Flyers this season.

Last season, Brink had 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists), 15 penalty minutes, two power play goals, and one game-winning goal in 41 games for the Phantoms. Collegiately, Brink played three seasons for the Pioneers (2019-21) with 27 goals and 65 assists (92 points) in 84 games.

He was named NCAA (AHCA West) All-American First Team. Brink played three seasons with the Pioneers with 92 points (27 goals, 65 assists) in 84 career games. In 2019, he was named NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team.

The Flyers drafted Brink in the second round (34th pick) in the 2019 NHL Draft. Before playing at the University of Denver, Brink played two seasons with the Sioux City Musketeers (2017-18, 2018-19), with 72 points (37 goals, 35 assists) in 56 career games.

Brink also played in two World Junior Championships with Team USA U-20, helping them win the Gold Medal in 2021. He earned six points (2 goals, 4 assists). In his two seasons, he earned eight points (3 goals, 5 assists), including a Bronze Medal at the 2018-19 U-18 World Junior Championship.

Olle Lycksell is five foot eleven and weighs 176 pounds. The 24-year-old from Oskarshamn, Sweden, has 28 points (16 goals, 12 assists), 12 penalty minutes, eight power play goals, and four game-winning goals in 33 games for the Phantoms this season. In Philadelphia, Lycksell played one game with two penalty minutes.

Last season, Lycksell split his time with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In Philadelphia, Lycksell had one assist and eight penalty minutes in eight games for the Flyers while collecting 45 points (14 goals, 31 assists), and six penalty minutes in 53 games for the Phantoms last season. In addition, Lycksell earned four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in the AHL playoffs.

The Flyers drafted Lycksell in the sixth round (168th pick) in the 2017 NHL Draft. Before Philadelphia, he played five seasons in the SHL for the Linköping HC, Färjestad BK, and Växjö Lakers HC with 95 points (42 goals, 53 assists), and 36 penalty minutes in 221 games. In addition, he collected 11 points (4 four goals, 7 assists) in the SHL playoffs.

Internationally, Lycksell represented Sweden in the U19 and U20 in the IIHF World Junior Championships earning three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in 13 games. He helped Sweden win the J20 Silver Medal in 2019 and the Bronze Medal in 2018.
