The Saskatchewan Roughriders and quarterback Mason Fine agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Tuesday.

Mason Fine is five foot eleven and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Locust Grove, Oklahoma, completed 94 of 136 passes (69.1%) for 1,043 yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions, and ten carries for 57 yards in 14 games for the Roughriders in 2023.

The Roughriders signed Fine as a free agent on December 30, 2020. In three seasons with Saskatchewan, Fine completed 166 of 247 passes (67.2%) for 1,797 yards, six touchdowns, eight interceptions, and 19 carries for 109 yards in 31 games. Before Saskatchewan, Fine had a tryout with the Chicago Bears in 2020 but was not offered a contract.

Collegiately, Fine played four seasons at North Texas (2016-19) completing 1,039 of 1,655 passes (63%) for 12,505 yards, 93 touchdowns, 34 interceptions, 325 carries for 56 yards, seven touchdowns, and punted the ball one time for 28 yards in 49 games for the Mean Green.

Fine finished his career as the all-time passing leader in program history (12,505), first in passing touchdowns (93), first in passer efficiency (140.68), first in touchdowns responsible for (100), a record-holder in career completions (1,039), and career pass attempts (1,655). He was a two-time C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, a two-time First Team All-C-USA, Second Team All-C-USA, and All-C-USA Freshman Team.
