Former Michigan Panthers quarterback Carson Strong announces retirement

Former Michigan Panthers quarterback Carson announced his retirement on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

Carson Strong is six foot three and weighs 226 pounds. The 24-year-old from Vacaville, California, completed 31 of 49 passes (63.3%) for 266 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and four carries for nine yards in four games for the Michigan Panthers in 2023.

The Panthers signed Strong as a free agent on March 20, 2023. Before Michigan, Strong signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He completed 1 of 4 passes (25%) for six yards in two preseason games.

After his release, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad but was released a week later. Later, he took part in an XFL minicamp hosted by Jordan Palmer but went undrafted.

Collegiately, Strong played four seasons at Nevada (2018-21) completing 852 of 1,252 (68.1%) passes for 9,368 yards, 74 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, and 139 carries for -305 yards in 32 games for the Wolf Pack.

He was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, All-Mountain West First Team, and Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class of 2021. He is a two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and two-time All-Mountain West First Team.
