The Hamilton Tiger-Cats restructured offensive lineman Joel Figueroa’s contract on Tuesday according to 3DownNation’s Troy Durrell. Figueroa was previously set to make around 200K in 2024.
Joel Figueroa is six foot six and weighs 320 pounds. The 34-year-old from Miami, Florida, played five games for the Ticats in 2023.
The Ticats’ offense finished seventh in points per game (22.7), fifth in offensive points per game (20.9), fifth in offensive touchdowns (35), fourth in net offense per game (352.0), seventh in rushing yards per game (96.7), and four in sacks allowed (46). The Ticats signed Figueroa as a free agent in 2023.
Figueroa signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a free agent on April 10, 2023, and played three seasons. Next, he signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2016 playing 18 games in two seasons. Then, he signed with the B.C. Lions in 2018 and played 46 games in three seasons.
Collegiately, Figueroa played six seasons at Miami (FL) (2006-11) playing 42 games for the Hurricanes. In 2009, Miami’s offensive racked up 5,199 yards (3,405 passing, 1,794 rushing), which is the most since the 2004 season (4,593 yards) as the Miami offense is in line to become just the eighth team in school history to gain 5,000 yards in a season.
