The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed quarterback Chris Streveler to a one-year contract through the 2024 season on Wednesday.

Chris Streveler is six foot one and weighs 216 pounds. The 29-year-old from Naperville, Illinois, played one preseason game in 2023 against the Cleveland Browns in the Hall of Fame Game completing 1 of 7 passes (14.3%) for nine yards, one interception, and one carry for seven yards.

In the game, Streveler injured his thumb on his throwing hand hitting a helmet attempting to make a pass during the game, and missed the rest of the preseason before he was released on August 16, 2023.

In the 2022 preseason, Streveler completed 24 of 33 passes (72.7%) for 277 yards, five touchdowns, one interception, and nine carries for 71 yards leading the Jets to three straight preseason wins. After the season, he was placed on the practice squad but was later elevated to the active roster.

Streveler completed 10 of 15 passes (66.7%) for 90 yards, and nine carries for 54 yards in two regular season games, of which one was a start.

Streveler played three seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets completing 27 of 40 passes (67.5%) for 231 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and one carry for 16 yards in nine games, of which one was a start.

Before the NFL, Streveler played two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2018-19) completing 242 of 374 passes (64.7%) for 2,698 yards, 19 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 12 carries for 205 yards, and 22 touchdowns in 35 games, of which 12 were starts.

In 2019, he completed 156 of 234 passes (66.7%) for 1,564 yards, eight touchdowns, 14 interceptions, eight carries for 128 yards, and eight touchdowns in 17 games, leading the Blue Bombers to win its first Grey Cup championship since 1990.

Collegiately, Streveler played two seasons at the University of Minnesota (2014-15) completing 4 of 11 passes (36%) for 37 yards, one interception, 40 carries for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for four yards in ten games for the Golden Gophers.

Then, Streveler transferred to South Dakota (2016-17) completing 480 of 754 passes (64%) for 6,081 yards, 54 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 329 carries for 1,543 yards, and 20 touchdowns in 23 games for the Coyotes.

He was named First Team All-MVFC (2017), AP First Team FCS All-American (2017), MVFC Newcomer of the Year (2016), and MVFC Offensive Player of the Year (2017).
