The Toronto Argonauts and offensive lineman Darius Ciraco agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Friday according to 3DownNation’s John Hodge.
Darius Ciraco is six foot four and weighs 292 pounds. The 27-year-old from Burlington, Ontario, started 16 games for the Argonauts in 2023.
In 2023, Toronto’s offense ranked second in offensive average points (29.3), second in offensive touchdowns (56), second in average net offense (377.8), fourth in average rushing yards (113.7), fourth in average passing yards (272.2), and first the least number of sacks allowed (19). The Argonauts signed Ciraco as a free agent on February 14, 2023.
Before Toronto, Ciraco was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first round (6th pick) of the 2018 CFL Draft. He played three seasons for Hamilton including two trips to the Grey Cup in 46 games for the Ticats. Then, he signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2022 playing 16 games.
Collegiately, Ciraco played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2014-17) with one tackle (1 assist) in 39 games for the Dinos. He was named U Sports Second Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star in 2018.
