Toronto Argonauts and WR Dejon Brissett agree to a two-year contract extension

The Toronto Argonauts and wide receiver Dejon Brissett agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Sunday according to 3DownNation’s JC Abbott. Brissett was scheduled to be a free agent on February 13th.

Dejon Brissett is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 27-year-old from Mississauga, Ontario, made 38 catches for 594 yards, five touchdowns, and five kickoff returns for 109 yards in 18 games for the Argonauts in 2023.

The Argonauts drafted Brissett in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In three seasons in Toronto, Brissett has made 57 catches for 827 yards, six touchdowns, and eight kick returns for 153 yards in 33 games. He is a member of the 2022 Toronto Argonauts Grey Cup championship team.

Collegiately, Brissett played four seasons at the University of Richmond (2015-18) making 85 catches for 1,276 yards, nine touchdowns, 32 kick returns for 764 yards, one touchdown, and ten punt returns for 150 yards, and one touchdown in 29 games for the Spiders. He was named First Team All-CAA in 2017. Then, he transferred to Virginia in 2019 making two catches for 18 yards in 12 games for the Cavaliers.
