Ottawa Redblacks and DB Damon Webb agree to a one-year contract extension

The Ottawa Redblacks and defensive back Damon Webb agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Monday.

Damon Webb is five foot eleven and weighs 195 pounds. The 28-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, made 62 tackles, two tackles on special teams, one sack, and three interceptions in 16 games for the Redblacks in 2023. The Redblacks signed Webb as a free agent in 2022. He made 34 tackles and one interception for 18 yards in nine games for the Redblacks.

Before Ottawa, Webb signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He spent two seasons on their practice squad. Then, Webb signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2020. Webb played one and a half seasons in Saskatchewan with 27 tackles, eight tackles on special teams, and two interceptions in 21 games.

Collegiately, Webb played four seasons at Ohio State (2014-17) with 131 tackles (82 solo, 49 assists), four tackles for loss, six interceptions for 110 yards, two touchdowns, seven pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble in 35 games for the Buckeyes.
