The Toronto Argonauts signed kicker Lirim Hajrullahu on Monday.
Lirim Hajrullahu is five foot eleven and weighs 215 pounds. The 33-year-old from Gjilan, SFR Yugoslavia, punted the ball 14 times for 519 yards (37.1 AVG) with a long of 51 yards in five games for the Philadelphia Stars in 2023. The Stars signed Hajrullahu as a free agent on May 18, 2023.
Before Philadelphia, Hajrullahu spent six seasons in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He converted 239 of 287 field goals (83.3%) with a long 56 yards and made 181 of 197 extra points for a total of 898 points.
In addition, he punted the ball 651 times for 22,961 yards (44.1%). He helped the Argonauts win the 105th Grey Cup championship in 2017. Hajrullahu is a two-time CFL East All-Star (2016, 2019), and a 2014 CFL West Most Outstanding Special Teams.
After the CFL, Hajrullahu went to the NFL when he signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. After being released by the Rams, he signed with the Generals (TSL). In December 2020, Hajrullahu signed with the Carolina Panthers but later returned to the Generals (TSL) after being released.
In August 2021, Hajrullahu signed with the Dallas Cowboys and played three regular season games, converting 4 of 5 field goals (80%) with a long of 35 yards, and made five extra points. He was released by Dallas and later had stints with the Washington Football Team and the Carolina Panthers before returning to the Cowboys in 2022.
Collegiately, Hajrullahu played two seasons at Western University (2012-13) making 52 of 63 field goals (82%) with a long of 47 yards, 123 kickoffs for 7,492 yards, four touchbacks, five kicks out of bounds, 113 punts for 4,590 yards (40.6 AVG), with 31 of them from inside the 20-yard line, and 14 from 50-plus yards.
