The Edmonton Elks signed kicker Boris Bede to a two-year contract through the 2025 season on Tuesday.

Boris Bede is six foot four and weighs 225 pounds. The 34-year-old from Toulon, France, made 37 of 39 field goals (94.9%) with a long of 53 yards, converted 53 of 57 extra points, and punted the ball 48 times for 2,284 yards (47.6 AVG), with a long of 75 yards in 17 games for the Argonauts in 2023.

In 2022, Bede made 43 of 55 field goals (78.2%), with a long of 56 yards, converted 34 of 37 extra points made, and five punts for 248 yards (49.6 AVG) with a long of 75 yards in 18 games helping the Argonauts win the Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The Argonauts acquired Bede from the Montreal Alouettes on February 13, 2020, for kicker Tyler Crapigna. In three seasons in Toronto, Bede made 108 of 127 field goals (85%), converted 55 of 58 extra points, and punted the ball 91 times for 6,331 yards (69.6 AVG) with a long of 75 yards in 48 games.

Before Toronto, Bede played five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes making 205 of 240 field goals (85.4%) with a long of 53 yards, converting 155 of 173 extra points, and punting the ball 510 times for 22,539 yards (44.2 AVG) with a long of 69 yards in 93 games. In 2015, he was named a CFL East All-Star.

Collegiately, Bede played three seasons at Tiffin University (2008-10), earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors in 2009 for the Dragons.

Then, he transferred to the University of Laval (2011-14) making 63 of 78 field goals (80.8%), converting 124 of 124 extra points, and punting the ball 292 times for 11,536 yards for the Rouge et Or. He is a three-time RSEQ All-Star team and a two-time Vanier Cup champion (2012-13).
