The Toronto Argonauts and wide receiver Damonte Coxie agreed to a one-year contract extension on Wednesday.

Damonte Coxie is six foot three and weighs 200 pounds. The 27-year-old from Reserve, Louisiana, made 39 catches for 787 yards, five touchdowns, and one kick return for five yards in 15 games for the Argonauts in 2023.

The Argonauts signed Coxie as a free agent on January 24, 2022. In 2022, Coxie made 15 catches for 210 yards in seven games helping them win the Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Before Toronto, Coxie tried out for the Green Bay Packers in 2021 after going undrafted but was not offered a contract.

Collegiately, Coxie played four seasons at Memphis (2017-20) with 185 catches for 2,948 yards, 20 touchdowns, one kick return for two yards, and one punt return for three yards in 43 games for the Tigers. He was a two-time Second Team All-AAC in 2018 and 2019.
