The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Brandon Alexander to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Wednesday night.
Brandon Alexander is six foot and weighs 192 pounds. The 30-year-old from Orlando, Florida, made 41 tackles and two interceptions in 17 games for the Blue Bombers in 2023. He was named a CFL West All-Star after the season. The Blue Bombers signed Alexander as a free agent in 2017.
In six seasons in Winnipeg, Alexander has made 211 tackles, 20 tackles on special teams, eight interceptions, and six forced fumbles in 77 games. He is a two-time Grey Cup champion, a two-time CFL West All-Star, and a CFL All-Star. Before Winnipeg, Alexander signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
Collegiately, Alexander played four seasons at the University of Central Florida (2011-14) with 241 tackles (139 solo, 102 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, seven interceptions for 21 yards, 19 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Knights. He was named Second Team All-AAC in 2014.
