The D.C. Defenders re-signed linebacker Andre Mintze for the 2024 season on Thursday.

Andre Mintze is six foot three and weighs 249 pounds. The 25-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, made 18 tackles (8 solo, 10 assists) and 3.5 sacks in eight games for the D.C. Defenders in 2023. In the playoffs, Mintze made two tackles (2 solo) and one sack helping them reach the XFL Championship game against the Arlington Renegades.

Before D.C., Mintze signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.

Collegiately, Mintze played four seasons at Vanderbilt (2017-2020) with 75 tackles (43 solo, 32 assists), 17 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 33 games for the Commodores.
