The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed defensive lineman Casey Sayles to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Saturday according to 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk.

Casey Sayles is six foot four and weighs 282 pounds. The 28-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, made 50 tackles and seven sacks for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2023. He was named a CFL East All-Star and CFL All-Star after the season. The Ticats signed Sayles as a free agent on February 15, 2023.

Before Hamilton, Sayles signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He also spent a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018, playing four preseason games with four tackles (3 solo, 1 assist). In 2019, Sayles played for the Birmingham Iron (AAF) with 16 tackles (11 solo, 5 assists) and one sack in eight games before the league ceased operations.

In 2020, Sayles played for the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) with 12 tackles (5 solo, 7 assists) and one sack in five games before the league suspended operations due to the pandemic. Then, Sayles signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2021. He played two seasons in Winnipeg with 64 tackles, 11 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 32 games. He is a member of the 2021 Blue Bombers Grey Cup championship team.

Collegiately, Sayles played four seasons at Ohio (2013-16) with 110 tackles (47 solo, 63 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, six pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, and four kick returns for 30 yards in 45 games for the Bobcats.
