Hamilton Tiger-Cats and LB Nic Cross agree to a two-year contract extension

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed linebacker Nic Cross to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season according to 3DownNation’s John Hodge.

Nic Cross is five foot ten and weighs 210 pounds. The 24-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, made 14 tackles on special teams and one forced fumble in 17 games for the Ticats in 2023. The Ticats drafted Cross in the first round (9th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In three seasons, Cross has made two tackles, 38 tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 34 games.

Collegiately, Cross played one season at the University of Regina in 2017 with 63 tackles (36 solo, 27 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, four pass breakups, and one kick return for 13 yards in nine games for the Rams.  

Next, he played for the Okanagan Sun (CJFL) in 2018 making ten tackles (8 solo, 2 assists), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one touchdown, and one pass breakup in five games.

Then, he went to the University of British Columbia in 2019 with 74 tackles (57 solo, 17 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 17 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups in eight games for the Thunderbirds. He was named U Sports First Team All-Canadian.
