The Memphis Showboats released defensive tackle Willie Henry on Monday. The Showboats drafted Henry in the 2024 UFL Disposal Draft.
Willie Henry is six foot three and weighs 300 pounds. The 29-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, made 20 tackles (11 solo, 9 assists), three tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in ten games. In the playoffs, Henry made three tackles (3 solo), one tackle for loss, and one sack in two games helping the Stallions win their second straight USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
The Stallions signed Henry on April 27, 2022. In 2022, Henry made 15 tackles (9 solo, 6 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in seven games. In the playoffs, Henry played two games.
Before Birmingham, Henry was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (132nd pick) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He also had stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants. He played a combined 18 NFL regular season games for the Ravens and 49ers with 36 tackles (26 solo, 10 assists), seven tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.
Collegiately, Henry played three seasons at Michigan (2013-15) with 86 tackles (40 solo, 46 assists), 18.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one interception for seven yards, one touchdown, three pass breakups, and one blocked punt in 35 games for the Wolverines. He was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2015.
