The Ottawa Redblacks signed running back Kylin Hill and offensive lineman Austin Myers on Monday.
Kylin Hill is five foot ten and weighs 214 pounds. The 25-year-old from Columbus, Mississippi, played two seasons for the Green Bay Packers with 11 carries for 31 yards, one catch for five yards, and ten kick returns for 199 yards in ten games.
The Packers drafted Hill in the seventh round (256th pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed with the Orlando Guardians (XFL) in 2024 but the Guardians were not included in the XFL and USFL merger that formed the United Football League (UFL).
Collegiately, Hill played four seasons at Mississippi State (2017-20) with 452 carries for 2,535 yards, 16 touchdowns, 67 catches for 631 yards, six touchdowns, and nine touchdowns (7 solo, 2 assists), and one tackle for loss in 40 games for the Bulldogs. He was named First Team All-SEC by the Associated Press, and Second Team All-SEC in 2019.
Austin Myers is six foot five and weighs 295 pounds. The 26-year-old from Houston, Texas, had signed to play for the Bay Area Panthers (IFL) in 2024. In addition, he signed with the Pittsburgh Maulers (USFL) in 2023 but the Maulers were not included in the USFL and XFL merger that formed the United Football League (UFL).
Collegiately, Myers played four seasons at TCU (2016-19) playing 26 games at left tackle, left guard, and right guard for the Horned Frogs.
Then, he transferred to Memphis (2021-22) playing both left and right guard for the Tigers. In 2022, the Tigers’ offensive line helped the offense rank 21st in the nation in passing offense (279.2) and 22nd in scoring offense (35.3).
The Tigers won the 2022 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. He was named Phil Steele’s Third Team Preseason All-AAC, and Phil Steele’s Fourth Team All-AAC Team.
