The St. Louis Battlehawks released quarterback Nick Tiano on Tuesday.

Nick Tiano is six foot four and weighs 231 pounds. The 27-year-old from Chattanooga, Tennessee, completed 20 of 36 passes (55.6%) for 199 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and eight carries for 51 yards in four games for the St. Louis Battlehawks in 2023. The Battlehawks drafted Tiano in the first round (7th pick) in Phase 7 of the 2023 XFL Draft.

Before St. Louis, Tiano signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He also had stints with the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts. Collegiately, Tiano played two seasons at Mississippi State (2015-16) completing one pass for five yards in five games for the Bulldogs.

Then, he transferred to Tennessee-Chattanooga (2017-19) completing 494 of 865 passes (57%) for 5,825 yards, 35 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 233 carries for 768 yards, 10 touchdowns, one catch for two yards, one touchdown, and punted the ball for 30 yards with a long of 22 yards in 28 games for the Mocs.
