Toronto Argonauts sign DB Kerfalla Exumé and FB Albert Awachie

The Toronto Argonauts are set to sign defensive back Kerfalla Exumé on Tuesday according to 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk. In addition, the Argonauts signed fullback Albert Awachie.

Kerfalla Exumé is six foot and weighs 197 pounds. The 29-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, made two tackles and 17 tackles on special teams in 14 games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2023.

The Blue Bombers signed Exumé as a free agent on July 5, 2023. In addition, Exumé was with the Montreal Alouettes in 2023 but did not play a game for them dealing with a shoulder injury.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Exumé in the eighth round (70th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft. In his rookie season, Exume had 25 tackles in 18 games for the Blue Bombers when they won the 2019 Grey Cup. In 2021, Exumé signed with the Alouettes as a free agent. In 2021, He played two seasons in Montreal making three tackles and 21 tackles on special teams in 32 games.

Collegiately, Exumé played four seasons at the University of Montreal (2015-18) with 29 tackles (23 solo, six assists), two interceptions, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 23 games for the Carabins.

Albert Awachie is six foot three and weighs 262 pounds. The 31-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, made three catches for 24 yards, one tackle on special teams, and two kick returns for 25 yards in 14 games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2023.

The Roughriders signed Awachie as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Awachie played six seasons in Saskatchewan with nine catches for 74 yards, 15 tackles on special teams, one forced fumble, and four kick returns for 41 yards in 43 games.

Collegiately, Awachie played four seasons at the University of Toronto (2013-16) with 14 catches for 145 yards, and 25 tackles (22 solo, 3 assists) in 22 games for the Varsity Blues.
