The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive lineman Thiadric Hansen and defensive back Quincy Mauger on Tuesday.
Thiadric Hansen is six foot two and weighs 254 pounds. The 31-year-old from Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, made three tackles in four games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2023. The Blue Bombers drafted Hansen in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2019 CFL European Draft. Hansen played four seasons in Winnipeg with 19 tackles, 21 tackles on special teams, four sacks, and two forced fumbles in 46 games. He is a two-time Grey Cup champion.
Internationally, Hansen played seven seasons for the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (GFL) making 527 tackles, 62 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and 7 interceptions becoming the team’s all-time leader in tackles. In addition, he played for the Potsdam Royals and the Wroclaw Panthers.
Quincy Mauger is six foot and weighs 206 pounds. The 28-year-old from Marietta, Georgia, made 47 tackles, 7 tackles on special teams, three sacks, and one interception in 18 games for the B.C. Lions in 2023. In 2022, Mauger made 19 tackles, two tackles on special teams, one sack, one interception for 25 yards, and one forced fumble in eight games.
Before B.C., Mauger signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He also had a brief stint with the Oakland Raiders in 2018. In 2019, he played for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) making one tackle (1 solo) in one game. Then, he played for the Blues of The Spring League (TSL) in 2020.
Collegiately, Mauger played four seasons at Georgia (2013-16) making 186 tackles (128 solo, 58 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions for 32 yards, 12 pass blocks, and one forced fumble in 50 games for the Bulldogs.
