The Toronto Argonauts have released defensive lineman Thomas Costigan on Wednesday according to 3DownNation.

Thomas Costigan is six foot three and weighs 245 pounds. The 26-year-old from Stamford, Connecticut, made 17 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and six sacks in 13 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2023. The Argonauts signed Costigan as a free agent on February 14, 2023.

Before Toronto, Costigan signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Next, he signed with the Edmonton Elks on February 7, 2020. He played one season in Edmonton making 24 tackles and six sacks in 11 games.

Then, the Elks traded Costigan to the Montreal Alouettes along with Nafees Lyon for Avery Ellis and a third-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft on August 31, 2022. He made three tackles, one tackle on special teams, one sack, and two forced fumbles in seven games.

Collegiately, Costigan played four seasons at Bryant University (2015-18) with 285 tackles (166 solo, 119 assists), 46.5 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, nine pass breakups, one block punt, and three interceptions in 44 games for the Bulldogs. He was a two-time First Team All-NEC and NEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.
