The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed offensive lineman Jonathan Hubbard and defensive back Marcus Murphy on Tuesday.

Jonathan Hubbard is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. The 26-year-old from Kilgore, Texas, spent two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the practice squad. Before Tampa Bay, Hubbard signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and spent most of the season on the practice squad.

Collegiately, Hubbard played five seasons at Northwestern State University (2015-19) playing 33 games, of which 27 were starts for the Demons. In 2018, the Demons offense had at least 15 knockdowns in five games and double-digit knockdowns in nine games.

Marcus Murphy is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 25-year-old from West Point, Mississippi, made 25 tackles (12 solo, 13 assists), one interception for 22 yards, and two pass breakups in nine games for the Orlando Guardians (XFL) in 2023. The Guardians drafted Murphy in the seventh round (49th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2023 XFL Draft.

Before Orlando, Murphy signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He played one preseason game for the Falcons against the Tennessee Titans recording no stats.

Collegiately, Murphy played three seasons at Mississippi State (2018-20) making 66 tackles (34 solo, 32 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions for 38 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, and one kick return for 16 yards in 22 games for the Bulldogs.
