The Arlington Renegades placed offensive lineman Garrett McGhin on injured reserve on Saturday.
Garrett McGhin is six foot six and weighs 315 pounds. The 29-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, started ten games for the Arlington Renegades (XFL) in 2023 helping them win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders. After the season, McGhin played one preseason game for the Buffalo Bills in 2023. It was his third stint in Buffalo.
Before Arlington, signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and played two games. He also had stints with the Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, and the New Jersey Generals (USFL). The Generals drafted McGhin in the fifth round (40th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. He played nine games for New Jersey and was named the to the All-USFL Team after the season.
Collegiately, McGhin played five seasons at East Carolina (2014-18) playing both guard positions in 48 games, of which 34 were starts for the Pirates. In 2017, McGhin helped play a key role for East Carolina’s offense ranking 12th nationally in passing offense (317.9 YPG) and 42nd in total offense (425.6 YPG).
