The St. Louis Battlehawks placed linebacker Johnny Buchanan on injured reserve on Monday.

Johnny Buchanan is five foot eleven and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Brick Township, New Jersey, was drafted by the Battlehawks in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft and later signed a letter of intent to play for the Battlehawks in 2024.

Collegiately, Buchanan played five seasons at Delaware (2018-22) making 326 tackles (146 solo, 180 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three interceptions for 57 yards, one interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one kick return for 17 yards, and one carry for three yards in 52 games for the Fightin’ Blue Hens.

Buchanan was a two-time First Team All-CAA and Second Team All-CAA. In addition, Buchanan was a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist in 2022.
