The Arlington Renegades added defensive back Jamal Carter to the active roster on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jamal Carter is six foot one and weighs 215 pounds. The 29-year-old from Naranja, Florida, made 17 tackles (9 solo, 8 assists) in three games for the Arlington Renegades in 2023 helping them win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders. Arlington drafted Carter in the second round (14th pick) of the 2023 XFL Supplemental Draft.
Before Arlington, Carter signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He played one season in Denver with 11 tackles (9 solo, 2 assists), and one pass breakup in 16 games. Next, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2019 with 15 tackles (9 solo, 6 assists), and one pass breakup in 12 games.
Then, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals before heading to the Tennessee Titans. He played one regular season game for the Titans recording no stats.
Collegiately, Carter played four seasons at Miami (FL) (2013-16) making 164 tackles (95 solo, 69 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions for 48 yards, 10 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and four kick returns for 60 yards in 43 games for the Hurricanes.
