Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign linebacker Aaron Hansford

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed linebacker Aaron Hansford on Tuesday according to the CFL Transaction page.

Aaron Hansford is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. The 26-year-old from Washington, D.C., made 10 tackles (5 solo, 5 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble in nine games for the Memphis Showboats (USFL) in 2023.

The Showboats (then the Tampa Bay Bandits) signed Hansford as a free agent on November 3, 2022. Before Memphis, Hansford signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022, but was released on August 3, 2022.

Collegiately, Hansford played five seasons at Texas A&M (2016-21) with 157 tackles (71 solo, 86 assists), 18.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, seven pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one touchdown, and three catches for 39 yards in 43 games for the Aggies. In 2021, Hansford was given the Defensive Production Award at the annual team banquet.
