Saskatchewan Roughriders sign defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh on Tuesday.

R.J. McIntosh is six foot four and weighs 291 pounds. The 27-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, made three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) in two preseason games for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. The Colts signed McIntosh as a free agent on February 8, 2022, before he was released on August 30, 2022, and later signed with the Miami Dolphins on November 21, 2022, where he was placed on the practice squad.

Before Indianapolis, McIntosh was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round (139th pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He made five tackles (5 solo) and one quarterback hit in six games in his rookie season. In 2019, McIntosh made 13 tackles (5 solo, 8 assists), two tackles for loss, two sacks, and two quarterback hits in 12 games. After New York, McIntosh spent time with the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers.

Collegiately, McIntosh played three seasons at Miami (FL) (2015-17) with 103 tackles (51 solo, 52 assists), 23 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 29 games for the Hurricanes. He was named Second Team All-ACC in 2017.
