The Birmingham Stallions signed defensive end Jonathan Garvin and linebacker Maalik Hall on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jonathan Garvin is six foot four and weighs 257 pounds. The 24-year-old from Lake Worth, Florida, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (242nd pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Green Bay making 32 tackles (17 solo, 15 assists), one tackle for loss, 1.5 sacks, two quarterback hits, and two pass breakups in 38 games. Garvin was released by the Packers on July 28, 2023.
Collegiately, Garvin played three seasons at Miami (FL) (2017-19) with 106 tackles (46 solo, 60 assists), 29 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and one blocked punt in 38 games for the Hurricanes.
Maalik Hall is six foot two and weighs 235 pounds. The 25-year-old from Athens, Texas, signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023, but was placed on injured reserve and later released on February 16, 2024.
Collegiately, Hall played five seasons at Southeast Oklahoma State (2017-22) with 154 tackles (79 solo, 75 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one blocked punt, and one punt return for 17 yards in 43 games for the Savage Storm. In 2021, Hall was named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-GAC, and D2football.com top-100 players list.
In his final season in 2022, Hall made 77 tackles (34 solo, 43 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games. Hall was named First Team All-GAC.
