Houston Roughnecks place defensive end Reggie Walker on injured reserve

The Houston Roughnecks placed defensive end Reggie Walker on the injured reserve list on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Reggie Walker is six foot one and weighs 249 pounds. The 27-year-old from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, made 23 tackles (15 solo, 8 assists), four tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in nine games for the Houston Gamblers in 2023. The Gamblers (now the Roughnecks) signed Walkers as a free agent on September 17, 2022.

Before Houston, Walker signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played one game for the Cardinals in 2020 with one tackle (1 solo) before spending the rest of the season on the practice squad. After Arizona, Walker signed with the Edmonton Elks on May 15, 2022, but was released on July 29, 2022.

Collegiately, Walker played five seasons at Kansas State (2015-19) with 140 tackles (101 solo, 39 assists), 35 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, five pass breakups, nine forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one blocked punt in 50 games for the Wildcats.

Walker was named First Team All-Big 12 by Athlon Sports in 2016, Big 12 Defenseman Freshman of the Year by both the coaches and ESPN in 2016, Second Team All-Big 12 by the coaches in 2017, and an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2019.
