The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Dillon Stoner, defensive lineman Carson Taylor, and linebacker Davion Taylor on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Dillon Stoner is six foot and weighs 194 pounds. The 26-year-old from Tulsa, Oklahoma, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2021. He played six games in his rookie season making one tackle (1 solo) before spending the rest of the season on the practice squad. In 2022, Stoner made two catches for 14 yards in one preseason game against the New England Patriots. He spent the 2022 regular season on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Stoner played five seasons at Oklahoma State (2016-20) making 191 catches for 2,378 yards, 17 touchdowns, one carry for 12 yards, completing 2 of 4 passes (50%) for 5 yards, one touchdown, two kick returns for 23 yards, 55 punt returns for 372 yards, and seven tackles (7 solo) in 52 games for the Cowboys. Stoner was a four-time First Team All-Big 12 Academic and a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
Carson Taylor is six foot four and weighs 251 pounds. The 26-year-old from Glendale, Arizona, made 25 tackles (14 solo, 11 assists), five tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup in nine games for the Philadelphia Stars (USFL) in 2023. Before Philadelphia, Strong attended the Chicago Bears training camp in 2022.
Collegiately, Taylor played five seasons at Northern Arizona (2017-21) with 163 tackles (82 solo, 81 assists), 36 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, one interception, seven pass breakups, and six forced fumbles in 47 games for the Lumberjacks. His 19 sacks ranked third in program history since 2000 and his 36 tackles for loss is tied for third all-time at Northern Arizona.
In his final season, Taylor had 30 tackles (19 solo, 11 assists), 10 tackles for loss, six sacks, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in eight games. He was named Phil Steele All-Big Sky Third Team, All-Big Sky Honorable Mention, and Spring All-Big Sky Honorable Mention.
Davion Taylor is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 25-year-old from Magnolia, Mississippi, made six tackles (4 solo, 2 assists) in two preseason games for the Chicago Bears in 2023. The Bears signed Taylor as a free agent on August 17, 2023, but released him on August 29, 2023. After he was released by the Bears, Taylor signed with the Arizona Cardinals and spent part of the season on the practice squad.
Before Arizona, Taylor was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round (103rd pick) in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Philadelphia making 51 tackles (31 solo, 20 assists), one tackle for loss, and two forced fumbles in 21 games.
Collegiately, Taylor played two seasons at Coahoma Community College in 2017 with nine tackles (5 solo, 4 assists), and two tackles for loss in one game for the Tigers. Then, he transferred to Colorado (2018-19) with 128 tackles (99 solo, 29 assists), 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, six pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries in 24 games for the Buffaloes.
