The Montreal Alouettes signed offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine on Tuesday.

Jazston Turnetine is six foot seven and weighs 336 pounds. The 24-year-old from Ellenwood, Georgia, was drafted by the Seattle Sea Dragons (XFL) in the tenth round of the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft. The Sea Dragons were not included in the XFL and USFL merger that formed the United Football League (UFL).

The St. Louis Battlehawks (UFL) drafted Turnetine in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft but released him on March 10, 2024. Before St. Louis, Turnetine had NFL tryouts with the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars but was not offered a contract.

Collegiately, Turnetine played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College (2018-19) playing tackle in 10 games for the Blue Dragons. In 2019, he was named Second Team All-American after the Blue Dragons won the Salt City Bowl for the second year in a row. The Blue Dragons had a record of 19-5 during his time there.

Next, Turnetine transferred to South Carolina (2020-21) playing left tackle in 16 games for the Gamecocks. Then, Turnetine wrapped up his collegiate career at Florida State in 2022 playing 13 games, of which eight were starts for the Seminoles. Turnetine helped Florida State average 270 passing yards (270.2) and 210 rushing yards (214.1) per game.

In addition, FSU’s offense led the country with an average of 7.46 plays of at least 20 yards per game and tied for the national lead with eight touchdown drives of at least 90 yards. He earned the team’s Don Powell Award.
