B.C. Lions sign running back Damarea Crockett

The B.C. Lions signed running back Damarea Crockett on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Damarea Crockett is five foot eleven and weighs 225 pounds. The 26-year-old from Magnolia, Arkansas, had nine carries for 24 yards in two preseason games for the New York Jets in 2023. The Jets signed Crockett as a free agent on July 22, 2023.

Before New York, Crockett signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and the Denver Broncos. In 2021, he played 12 games for the Broncos with three carries for seven yards. In 2022, Crockett tore his ACL in training camp.

Collegiately, Crockett played three seasons at Missouri (2016-18) with 368 carries for 2,178 yards, 19 touchdowns, 21 catches for 137 yards, two touchdowns, six kick returns for 106 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 28 games for the Tigers.

In 2018, Crockett had 147 carries for 709 yards, 7 touchdowns, 12 catches for 88 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games. He missed the final regular season game and bowl game with a sore foot.

Crockett finished the season ranked 12th in the SEC with 64.45 yards per game average while his 709 total yards ranked 15th in the SEC. He was named the Team’s Rigman Outstanding Underclassman Leadership Award.
