The Philadelphia Eagles traded All-Pro defensive end Hassan Reddick to the New York Jets on Friday for a future conditional third-round pick according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. In addition, Reddick is expected to receive a new contract with the Jets.
Hassan Reddick is six foot one and weighs 240 pounds. The 29-year-old from Camden, New Jersey, made 38 tackles (29 solo, 9 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback hits, 11 sacks, and one pass breakup in 17 games for the Eagles in 2023.
The Eagles signed Reddick as a free agent on March 17, 2022. In two seasons with Philadelphia, Reddick made 87 tackles (64 solo, 23 assists), 24 tackles for loss, 49 quarterback hits, 27 sacks, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 34 games being named a two-time Pro Bowler (2022-23) and Second Team All-Pro in 2022.
Before Philadelphia, the Arizona Cardinals drafted Reddick in the first round (13th pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Arizona with 255 tackles (162 solo, 93 assists), 33 tackles for loss, 32 quarterback hits, 20 sacks, 15 pass breakups, nine forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 64 games.
Then, Reddick signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent on March 19, 2021. He made 68 tackles (37 solo, 31 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 18 quarterback hits, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 16 games.
Collegiately, Reddick played four seasons at Temple (2013-16) with 147 tackles (98 solo, 49 assists), 46 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, one interception for five yards, seven pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Owls. He was named First Team All-AAC and Fourth Team All-American by Phil Steele in 2016.
