St. Louis Battlehawks sign defensive end Chris Garrett

The St. Louis Battlehawks signed defensive end Chris Garrett and released defensive end Elorm Lumor on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Chris Garrett is six foot four and weighs 245 pounds. The 25-year-old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was drafted by the Battlehawks in the second round of the Super Draft of the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. The Battlehawks released him on March 22, 2024.

Before St. Louis, Garrett was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round (252nd pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played two preseason games with five tackles (2 solo, 3 assists), and 1.5 sacks. In addition, Garrett appeared in one regular season game when the Rams won Super Bowl LVI.

Garrett would also spend time with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. On June 6, 2023, Garrett signed with the Houston Gamblers (USFL) making one tackle (1 solo) in two games.

Collegiately, Garrett played three seasons at Concordia University-St. Paul (2017-19) with 166 tackles (91 solo, 75 assists), 48,5 tackles for loss, 36.5 sacks, nine pass breakups, 15 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and one blocked punt in 28 games for the Golden Bears.

Garrett set the NCAA Division II record with 15 career forced fumbles, ranked third in NCAA Division II history with 1.30 sacks per game, and set the CSP career record and ranked 13th in Division II history & second in NSIC history with 36.5 sacks. He was named a two-time First Team All-NSIC and First Team All-American by both AFCA and the Associated Press.

Elorm Lumor is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. The 27-year-old from Piscataway, New Jersey, made one tackle (1 solo) against the Michigan Panthers this past Sunday. The Battlehawks re-signed Lumor on January 31, 2024.

In 2023, Lumor made 18 tackles (11 solo 7 assists), five tackles for loss, four sacks, and four quarterback hits in nine games. After the season, he earned a training camp invite from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Collegiately, Lumor played four seasons at Rutgers University (2017-20) with 107 tackles (44 solo, 63 assists), 15 tackles for loss, 9.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one blocked punt in 42 games for the Scarlet Knights.

Then, Lumor transferred to Towson in 2021 with nine tackles (5 solo, 4 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in eight games for the Tigers.
