Edmonton Elks place DL Chauncey Manac on the retired list

The Edmonton Elks placed defensive lineman Chauncey Manac on the retired list on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Chauncey Manac is six foot three and weighs 246 pounds. The 26-year-old from Homerville, Georgia, signed with the Edmonton Elks on January 25, 2024. Before Edmonton, Manac signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He played two preseason games for the Packers with one tackle (1 solo) and one sack against the New Orleans Saints. Next, Manac was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2023 but did not play the season.

Collegiately, Manac was a member of the scout team in his freshman year at Georgia in 2016. Next, he transferred to Garden City Community College in 2017 with 25 tackles (17 solo, 8 assists), seven tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble in seven games for the Broncbusters.

Then, he transferred to Louisiana-Lafayette (2018-21) with 166 tackles (97 solo, 69 assists), 33.5 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, three forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Ragin’ Cajuns. He was named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2021.
