The San Antonio Brahmas released wide receiver Matt Landers on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Matt Landers is six foot four and weighs 200 pounds. The 24-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, was claimed off waivers by the San Antonio Brahmas from the Arlington Renegades on March 10, 2024. Before San Antonio, Landers signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
Landers made three catches for 40 yards, and one touchdown in two preseason games for the Seahawks and was placed on the practice squad. After the Seahawks released Landers on September 19, 2023, Landers signed with the Carolina Panthers six days later and spent a couple of months on the practice squad. Then, Landers signed with the Arlington Renegades (UFL) on January 23, 2024.
Collegiately, Landers played three seasons at Georgia (2018-20) with 12 catches for 132 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for -6 yards in 25 games for the Bulldogs. Next, he transferred to Toledo in 2021 making 20 catches for 514 yards, five touchdowns, and one kick return for 26 yards in 12 games for the Rockets.
Then, Landers transferred to Arkansas in 2022 making 47 catches for 901 yards, eight touchdowns, and two carries for 21 yards in 13 games for the Razorbacks. His 901 receiving yards puts him eighth all-time in a single season at Arkansas with his eight TDs matches the sixth-most ever by a Razorback in a single year.
